Frequently Asked Questions

Are all the city council seats by geographic area now?

Yes! All six city council and Mayor seats are up for election on November 7, 2023. The Idaho Legislature passed a law requiring cities with populations over 100,000 to geographically zone the city so each area had a dedicated city council representative. This ensures neighborhoods are represented versus most of the council living in close proximity.

Can I vote for Luci?

If you live in District One, you can vote for Luci on November 7, 2023.  District One’s main boundaries are West of 5 Mile Road, North to Chinden Boulevard, South to Victory Road, and East to the edge of Boise. We’ll be posting polling locations and more information as the election gets closer. You can also request an absentee ballot.

I want to help Luci win, what do I do?

First, email or text her with what you would like to do! Here are some ideas:

  • Host a “Lemonade with Luci” Meet and Greet (we may even break out Beyoncé’s album)

  • Donate (campaigns cost money!)

  • Write letters to the Editor and/or social media posts

  • Walk neighborhoods (there will be snacks)

  • If you want to help, we will put you to work!

  • Add your name to Luci’s endorsement list!

I know campaigns cost money, but what is the money used for?

Campaigns are expensive! Money is used for signs, mailers, and other communications, especially as most voters may not be aware there is an upcoming election

Is Boise City Council a full-time job?

Nope. It’s a citizen job that’s meant to be part-time, and council members will have employment outside of their service.
